Germany is committed to becoming the standard-setter and promoter. German Chancellor Angela Merkel believes that Germany can become a promoter of industrial 4.0 standards and promote these standards in Europe and even the world.
German officials did not disclose the relevant content of these standards, but it is reported that the formulation of the standards is in full swing. Recently, the industrial 4.0 platform has just released an industrial data space through which visitors can obtain information on all the industries in the world. This space has a uniform "interface" standard and allows everyone to access it.
There are others who explore standardization. The fact is that Germany is not the only country that has introduced the Internet of Things and smart services to manufacturing in response to de-industrialization. Although the formulation is different, the content is similar, such as the "National Strategic Plan for Advanced Manufacturing" of the United States, the "Science and Technology Industry Alliance" of Japan, and the "Industrial 2050 Strategy" of the United Kingdom. The top-level design of China's manufacturing industry-"Made in China 2025" has also been launched in the first half of the year.
During Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Germany in November 2014, China and Germany issued the "China-Germany Cooperation Action Plan: Shaping Innovation Together", announcing that the two countries will carry out industrial 4.0 cooperation. Cooperation in this field is expected to become a new direction for future industrial cooperation between China and Germany. Learning from the German industrial 4.0 plan is the established strategy of "Made in China 2025.
In a written interview with time Weekly, Christina Otte, an expert on China affairs at the German Federal Trade and Investment Agency, said that China's industrial transformation plays an important role in China's transformation of its economic growth model. The Chinese government is trying to rebalance economic development by reducing growth based on investment and exports and seeking more growth driven by domestic demand. To achieve this goal, China needs to modernize its industry.
In order to maintain a stable level of GDP growth, it needs to switch from a labor-intensive production model to an efficient high-tech production model. Labor costs have risen sharply and will continue to expand in the future. China will face a shortage of qualified personnel in the near future.
